Opened for business in the heart of Historic Downtown Chandler, Arizona. The Uncommon was built around a very unique concept, especially for the location.
It's a 70s, 80s, and 90s themed restaurant / bar / arcade.
What could be more aligned with our nerdy weirdness than a retro arcade bar and restaurant? We created several fascinating and amazing art installations for the 9000 sq ft space. We have a knack for planting the 'remember-berries' of nostalgia and authenticity.
DRIPPING RUBIK'S CUBE
The entrance needed an eye catching show piece. Everything was hand illustrated, custom routered and assembled. It has multiple layers and really pops! It has become a focal point for photo ops and conversation.

THE ARCADE STAR GIRL
Rather than another boring texture wrap on the bricks, we went with STAR GIRL! Another illustration turned into a custom routered art piece. Much assembly and careful transportation was required!

CLASSIC MEDIA SHELF AND BAND COLLAGE
We turned two faux window shelves into an eye catching throwback to life in the 90s. The sign was printed on coated metal so it can be cleaned and... wow. We had to cut most of the albums, CD cases, and other media in half to fit the shelf. We actually found a classic 90's wood media shelf to pull apart and rebuild to fit the space.

BATHROOMS CAN BE COOL TOO!
We designed a vintage stripe to direct traffic. They bathrooms were not as obvious as they could have been. We also suggested adding some fun to the men's room. Metal prints of classic patents.

MAKING EXCITING SPACES
The enjoyment of a location is often due to the subtle spaces. We brought the feel of the Uncommon to life with many smaller and less obvious pieces.

ZOLTAR'S GREAT MUSEUM WALL
We went off the ledge on this one. A richly wallpapered backdrop and a one-of-a-kind art installation. We custom built 9 platforms and ordered custom fitted acrylic boxes. Each platform held a unique collection of themed toys and memorabilia.
